MiGTS provides the Gunner near real-life experience in operating the tank gunnery system in normal and emergency conditions. Through MiGTS, the Gunner can improve his procedural, laying and firing skills.
Salient Features
- Containerised, Mobile Simulator
- COTS Based Architecture
- Gunner Station with Seat Shaker
- Real Time Simulation with Ballistics
- Laser Range Finder
- Day Sight / IR Image Simulation
- Aural Simulation / Communication
- Commander Functions Simulation
- Target Board & Battle Field Exercises
Macmet along with CVRDE has developed two Gunnery Training Simulators for DRDO. The simulators have been operational since October 2002.

Day and Thermal Imagery
The gunner has two different sights - day sight and thermal sight. Day and Thermal imagery is developed for the simulator using Commercially - Off-The-Shelf(COTS) PC-Image Generator. These visuals are synchronised with the gunner's action.
Visual Features
- Day & Thermal Imagery
- Static & Dynamic targets
- Desert & Plains Terrain
- Environmental Effects
- Special Effects - Fire, Smoke, Dust
- Super Imposed Text Display in Thermal Imagery
- Object Library

Aural Simulation
Realistic sound profiles synchronised with the visuals are available in the simulator.
They Include
- Detonation and departure of rounds
- Breach open / Close sounds
- Battle Tank engine noise
- Hydraulic power pack noise
- Sounds due to movement of turret, gun and tank under various speeds and terrain conditions
- Ejection noise of fired cases and firing hit sounds
Gunner's Station include
- Gunner seat with seat shaker
- Gunner's Control Handle
- Fire Control Computer Console
- Turret Control Box
- Display Control Box
- Day / Thermal Sight
- Intercom

 Gunner's Station
The Gunner's seat consists of vibration unit attached to it. This is done to provide the gunner with disturbances experienced during the tank motion. Actual Gunner's Control Handle and Fire Control Computer Console are used in the simulator. The scenario outside the tank are viewed by the trainee through an eyepiece like arrangement as in the actual battle tank with the help of specially designed piped optics. The actual location of the day and thermal sight eyepieces and the field of view are realistically created as in the battle tank.
Instructor Station facilities
The Instructor Station is used for setting up of the trainee exercises and monitoring the progress of the exercise. Facility for briefing and debriefing of training sessions is also provided.
- User Friendly GUI
- Scenario Selection / Target Designation
- Exercise Control
- Control of Own / Enemy Tracks
- Malfunctions Setting
- Record, Snap, Replay (1x, 2x)
- Debrief & Trainee Evaluation
- Trainee Database

Exercises
All these exercises can be conducted both in plain and desert terrain. The Instructor can set the lesson parameters through interactive graphical user interface.
Simulator Mobility
The currently developed simulators are containerised and can be transported by road to any of the field locations. Based on requirements, Macmet can provide fixed base MiGTS.
